OFF-SEASON: Tyler is a sophomore at Roanoke College, Salem, Va., majoring in history and minoring in German; Casey is a junior at Ocean City High School

WHY DO YOU LIKE THE JOB? Casey: “I didn't know how to interact with the public, and I got to learn how to do that.”
MOST MEMORABLE RESCUE: Tyler: “My rookie year on 28th Street, a man and his neighbor got into a rip and got sucked out past their chests on a horrible overhead day and panicked. Me and Bill Lamon (a fellow lifeguard) had to pull this 6'-6", 250-pound man in to safety.”
ONE THING YOU CAN'T DO WITHOUT ON THE STAND: Casey: “Water. I love water. I used to not drink very much, but I drink my half-gallon jug every day.”
SOMETHING A BEACHGOER MIGHT BE SURPRISED TO FIND OUT ABOUT YOU: Tyler: “I'm a certified scuba diver since I was 14.”
