Left-Turn Ban on Ninth Street Swaps Direction

If you're driving toward the Ninth Street Bridge, left turns are now prohibited at West and Bay avenues.

Vehicles coming into Ocean City on the can now take left turns onto Bay and West avenues—after a long winter and spring when those turns were prohibited.

But now left turns are prohibited at the same intersections for cars traveling in the opposite direction. Vehicles traveling on Ninth Street toward the bridge cannot turn left onto West or Bay avenues.

Capt. Steven Ang said the restrictions will be in effect only until Ninth Street construction work is complete and a second lane of outbound traffic is re-opened. That work is scheduled to be complete by Memorial Day weekend.
