The multi-state Mega Millions lottery has reached an estimated $500 million after no winning tickets were sold for Tuesday night's drawing.
Friday's drawing will be one of the largest in lottery history, and is expected to draw a record numbers of players as a result. Due to high turnout for Tuesday's drawing, the jackpot jumped from $363 million to $500 million.
The largest Mega Millions jackpot to date was $390 million, with two winning tickets sold for the March 6, 2007, drawing — one in New Jersey (the Villas section of Lower Township), the other in Georgia.
