Historical Museum Adds Thursday Evening Hours

The museum hopes to attract new visitors with extended hours.

The Ocean City Historical Museum will add evening hours to its weekly schedule.

Starting Jan. 3, the Museum will be open an additional three hours on Thursdays until 7 p.m.  This will increase the total number of hours the museum is open to 30 per week, excluding special events.

Adding these hours will allow the museum to gauge the public’s interest in evening hours.  If you’ve never been to the museum, this is a great opportunity to check it out.

The Museum is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Thursday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Located in the Ocean City Community Center, the museum exhibits images and artifacts that tell the stories of Ocean City’s founding and evolution. A research library contains materials for people looking to do history on their own.  A gift shop is also available that carries unique gifts, books and other history items.
