Historical Images: 12th & Central

Our weekly feature includes photographs from the Ocean City Historical Museum collection and from the modern era.

This week's "Then and Now" features the view looking south towards 12th Street and Central Avenue.

On the northeast corner of 12th & Central Avenue is The Sassafras, a Tudor Style rooming house built 1903. In the first image, taken circa 1920, the street was unpaved and trolley tracks ran down Central Avenue.

The second image shows the intersection as it appears today, with the same buildings standing on the northeast and southeast corners.
