Halloween Events Continue with Poe and 'Lost at Sea'

The parade starts at 7:15 p.m. and runs down Asbury Avenue from Sixth Street to 11th Street.

Five days of Halloween events in Ocean City start with the annual Exchange Club Halloween Parade on Thursday night (Oct. 27) and continue through the traditional trick-or-treating night on Monday (Oct. 31).

The city's proceeds down Asbury Avenue from 6th to 11th Streets starting at 7:15 p.m. The Ocean City Exchange Club has sponsored the annual event for more than 64 years. It features an array of costumed characters competing for prizes, bands, floats, cheerleaders and drill teams. Late entries may register the night of the parade at Sixth Street and Asbury Avenue.

 
Friday, Oct. 28                                                     

The presents , which featuresi performances by candlelight of some of Edgar Allan Poe's most chilling stories including The Bells, Annabel Lee, The Black Cat, The Tell Tale Heart, the Raven and more. The shows are set for 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday (Oct. 29) and admission is $10. For information, call 609-457-6686.

A costume party themed "" is set for 7 to 11 p.m. at the . The fifth annual event benefits Community Art Projects, the group that beautifies public spaces in Ocean City with art and murals. The party features food, refreshments, dancing and a complimentary photograph. Tickets are $65 per person.

Sunday, Oct. 30

, a Halloween 5-kilometer run and 1 mile fun walk begins 7:30 a.m. at the . For information, visit the event website or call 609-624-1040. The event is sponsored by the Upper Township Soccer Association.

Listen to selections from the award-winning Broadway musical Wicked at the  performance at the 8 p.m. Sunday. Come dressed in costume and receive $5 off admission. Performers include Amanda DeSouza, Molly Huber, Kameron Ghanavati, Angelica Mathis and Rachel McGettigan. Admission is $10 if not in costume. Door opens 7:30 p.m. for candy and desserts.


Monday, Oct. 31

Trick-or-treat in Ocean City is set for Mon., Oct. 31 from 5 to 8 p.m. Youngsters should be accompanied by adults and wear fireproof costumes that provide good visibility.
