Friday Beach Report: Sun and a Sears Ad

The dune-front parking spots on E. Atlantic Boulevard on Friday morning are filled with moving vans and electronic equipment. And on the other side of the dunes at Surf Road and Waverly beaches, crews are filming a commercial for Sears.

A crew member said work will be done this morning, and the cameras will move on to other Jersey Shore locations.

Sears had a fine morning for filming—with bright blue skies, no clouds and cool temperatures.

The holiday weekend is off to a good start with a high of 79 degrees predicted for Friday and no chance of rain.

In the water at Surf Road, we measured a toasty 76 degrees for a water temperature on Friday morning. There's a little bit of seaweed rolling in with some east winds that are also creating some small chop in the surf.

Surf: It looks as if our great week of waves is finally over. Northeast winds are spoiling the glassy background swell we've enjoyed for the past couple days. The waves look about two feet in sloppy conditions. High tide is 11:20 a.m. and low tide is 5:45 p.m.

Traffic: No issues this morning.
