First Day of Fall Ends a Hot and Rainy Summer

High temperatures and rainfall for June, July and August were above normal.

Saturday is the first day of fall, and the forecast calls for some summer-like weather.

Ocean City can expect sunny skies, a high temperature of 81 degrees and an ocean temperature of 72 degrees — a perfect beach day to greet the new season.

Sunday's weather will continue clear but with cooler temperatures topping out at 71 degrees.

Tropical Storm Nadine is still spinning far, far away near the Azore Islands, but forecaster predict no other significant tropical developments in the next week.

The first day of autumn also closes the books on summer 2012. The region saw a steamy July and wet months of June and August.

Here's the data from nearby Atlantic City International Airport in Egg Harbor Township, which generally sees hotter temperatures than Ocean City in the summer and doesn't always see the same rainfall.
