Evacuation Order Still in Effect for Ocean City

Statement from Ocean City Office of Emergency Management.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Tuesday, October 30 8:00 a.m.

Ocean City, NJ: The Mandatory Evacuation is still in effect for Ocean City and all access routes to the island are still closed. Re-entry into Ocean City is prohibited at this time.

City Employees who were instructed to be off on Tuesday should plan on staying home but be available by phone for possible call in if conditions improve.

Residents still in Ocean City are advised to remain indoors. Do not attempt to drive. Most roads are still impassable and are likely to remain so throughout the day. The water may be much deeper than it appears and there is significant debris.

Emergency Management crews are out assessing damage and removing debris so please remain off the roads.
