Disaster Recovery Center Hours Change

The center will operate at the Ocean City Free Public Library through May 1.

New Jersey disaster recovery center hours will change to 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday starting on Monday, April 8. Saturday hours will remain 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The weekday hours had been 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. In Ocean City, the Disaster Recovery Center is located within the Ocean City Free Public Library at 17th Street and Simpson Avenue. The center will remain open through May 1.

Nine disaster recovery centers are open throughout New Jersey and are located in Atlantic, Cape May, Hudson, Monmouth and Ocean counties. Survivors can find their closest center online at FEMA.gov/DRC

There have been more than 85,000 visits to New Jersey centers since opening in early November.

The U.S. Small Business Administration is worried that too few people are taking advantage of interest rates as low as 1.69 percent on loans to repair and replace real estate and personal property damaged by Superstorm Sandy.

Homeowners, renters and businesses have until May 1 to submit disaster loan applications.
