Coastal Flood Advisory in Effect for Wednesday Evening

The National Weather Service warns that low-lying streets could flood.

The National Weather Service issued a Coastal Flood Advisory in effect for Ocean City from 7 p.m. to midnight on Wednesday, Aug. 1.

High tide on the bay side of Ocean City (8:33 p.m. at the Ninth Street Bridge) will coincide with a near-full moon and storms that could produce heavy rain and gusty wind.

Residents on flood-prone streets should consider moving their vehicles to higher ground.

The forecast says showers and thunderstorms are likely to hit Ocean City any time between late afternoon and midnight on Wednesday. The full moon comes on Thursday, Aug. 2.

The storms are expected to pass on Wednesday night and make way for a mostly sunny day with a high of 85 degrees on Thursday.
