Coastal Flood Advisory Continues on Wednesday

The National Weather Service repeats a flood warning as Ocean City reaches a full-moon tide today.

The National Weather Service issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for 6 p.m. to midnight Wednesday, June 15. The same warning was given on Monday and Tuesday nights.

The advisory warns of the potential for minor tidal flooding that could cover roads and potentially damage vehicles. If you live in a flood-prone area, consider moving your car to higher ground.

Flooding in Ocean City is typically worse on the bay side, and high tide at the Ninth Street Bridge is 8:44 p.m. Wednesday.

A meteorologist in the regional National Weather Service office in Mount Holly said that while there are no storms in the forecast, tide levels have been running high because of steady easterly winds in the past few days. At the same time, we're seeing full-moon tides.

The moon will be full in Ocean City on Wednesday, June 15.

On Monday and Tuesday evenings on the ocean side, the high tides were leaving little room for Ocean City Beach Patrol boats and lifeguard stands at some beaches. On the bay side, the tide covered marshes that are typically exposed. Some streets saw a small amount of salt water backing up through storm drains.

The advisory affects most of coastal New Jersey and Delaware.
