Beach Report: Perfect Beach Weather Continues on Monday

The waves, wind and weather at dawn on the beach and Boardwalk in Ocean City.

Count your blessings if this is your vacation week. After a glorious weekend, Monday morning is shaping up to be another beauty on the beach.

At Fifth Street on Monday morning, the sky is blue, the air is a little crisp and the ocean water temperature is 70 degrees.

The official National Weather Service forecast calls for a high of 90 degrees today, but southwest winds on the island should keep the beaches cool like they did on Sunday afternoon. There's no chance of rain today, and only a slight chance tonight.

Surf: It's that time of year when surfers start to do two things: 1) Get a little fed up with the crappy summer surf, and 2) Start to look at the hurricane reports. Our second tropical storm of the summer was named last night (somehow we missed Arlene as she fizzled in Mexico). Tropical Storm Bret is off Florida with 50 mph winds and a track into the North Atlantic toward Europe. Probably not much hope for waves from this one, but we'll keep you posted. In the meantime, it looks like another limp day of surf. On Monday morning, the southwesterlies are creating a little chop, but not many waves. High tide is 10:21 a.m. and low tide at 4:23 p.m.

Traffic: No issues early on Monday.
