Beach Report: Ocean Temp Plummets on Offshore Winds

The waves, wind and weather at dawn on the beach and Boardwalk in Ocean City.

The offshore breezes (winds out of the west) started blowing on Tuesday afternoon and by Tuesday night, the comfortable 70-degree ocean was a brisk 65 degrees.

That temperature held overnight, and on Wednesday morning at 14th Street we're looking at a glassy calm and cold ocean.

The cool water may be inviting on a day expected to see high temperatures of 91 degrees with a land breeze offering little relief. The forecast calls for a small chance of an afternoon thunderstorm.
