Formed in 1922, the Ferko String Band established the most successful record of wins in the history of the Philadelphia Mummers Parade. The Band has strutted away with first place 20 times and placed in the top five an amazing 82 out of 88 parades. Today the Band is as strong as ever with over 90 members ranging from 50 to 80 years of age.
From New York to France, New Orleans to Italy, Texas to Hong Kong and all points in between Ferko has wowed audiences with its unique music and costumes. The band has a series of hit records including Alabama Jubilee, You Are My Sunshine, Ain’t That A Shame and That Old Black Magic.
