Christine Lockwood McPartland's Art on Display in January

Ocean City artist Christine Lockwood McPartland will exhibit her paintings at the Ocean City Arts Center Jan. 2 to 31. 

McPartland works in pastels, watercolor and acrylics. A reception to "Meet the Artist" will be held 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, and is open to the public.

McPartland, a painter for more than two decades, works from her Ocean City studio and paints with fellow artists at the Lance Balderson studio in Seaville, New Jersey.

" I find painting is a way of expression that comes from deep inside — color, light and dark, and texture all come together right before your eyes. Sometimes the finished work is far from what I imagined it to be and that's the fun of it," McPartland said.

Ocean City Arts Center Executive Director Rosalyn Lifshin said, "Ms. McPartland's paintings have  been selected for three years to be a part of the Center's juried art show. Her work has been a favorite in our themed shows as well."

McPartland shares her work with family and friends throughout the world such as New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts and the United Kingdom.
