Cat in the Hat, Cinderella Among OCTC's Shows This Season

The season begins with "The Cat in the Hat" at the Music Pier July 7.

The Greater Ocean City Theatre Company (OCTC) will once again present five family friendly theatrical productions this summer.

After a successful casting process, OCTC has assembled talented, professional casts to bring to life a wide range of stories on the stages of the Ocean City Music Pier and the Moorlyn Family Theatre.

The 2014 Season will open with Dr. Seuss’ THE CAT IN THE HAT.  On a cold, cold day too wet to play, Sally (and her brother too) had nothing to do, but sit sit sit. And they did not like it. But then with a BUMP, that made them both jump, appeared The Cat in a Hat! And just like that, Sally and her brother had games to play and a lot of good tricks to pass the day. Their mother won't mind at all, and the mess will be small... Or should they listen to the wish of their responsible pet fish and send this mischievous cat away?

Experience the Dr. Seuss classic live on stage; July 7th at the Ocean City Music Pier and July 12th at the Moorlyn Family Theatre. Both shows have at 10:30 AM curtain.

Kids coming to the show are invited to bring their favorite Dr. Seuss book to be autographed by the cast.

OCTC’s 2014 Children’s Theatre series in Ocean City continues with the classic tale of CINDERELLA July 14th and 19th. Pirates will take over Ocean City on July 21st and 26th as the popular storybook HOW I BECAME A PIRATE leaps off the pages and onto the stage.

A new live production of everyone’s favorite bear family is sure to be a hit as THE BERENSTAIN BEARS is featured on July 28th and August 2nd. Rounding out the series is the staged musical version STUART LITTLE. You’ve read the books and seen the movie now come relive this charming story on August 4th and 9th.

OCTC’s professional Children’s Theatre Series is under the direction of John Anker Bow with Andrew Hink as Music Director and Colleen Kreisel as Choreographer. “So many special memories will be created as kids, families, and the young at heart enjoy live family theatre at an affordable price,” said Michael Hartman, Artistic Director.
