Arts Center Seeks Entries for Juried Art Show With Cash Prizes

The annual Juried Art Show will be held at the Ocean City Arts Center throughout November.

Art will be received for judging Oct. 14 to 29, and all accepted pieces will be exhibited Nov. 1 to 30. The entry fee is $18 per piece.

Artists may submit up to two works that have been completed in the past three years. Eligible mediums are oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastels, drawing, printmaking and mixed media.

Collages or prints of originals, and photography will not be accepted.  All work must be framed, wired and ready to hang.  Art is also judged on the framing and presentation of the work. Most of the art will be for sale.

An awards reception will be held Friday, Nov. 8, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The public is invited.

Executive Director Rosalyn Lifshin said, "Last year we received more than 100 entries.  Artists from the tri-state area entered and 50 paintings were chosen and were exhibited at the Arts Center."

Prizes:

• Best of Show: $200
• Second Place: $100
• Third Place: $100
• 4 Honorable Mentions: $50 each
