This Week in Ocean City: Fireworks Set for Wednesday Night

The huge summer craft show and the Chip Miller Surf Fest are also on tap for this week.

The second fireworks display of the month is set for Wednesday night.

The Ocean City Boardwalk Merchants Association will present a fireworks display visible from the Boardwalk Wednesday night around 10:30 p.m. It is the second display of the season presented by the Boardwalk Merchants Association.

The Huge Summer Craft Show that attracts thousands to Ocean City will be held on Saturday, July 19, one day only from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The outdoor event will be at a new location this year, the Tabernacle Grounds, 6th and Asbury Avenue.

It will feature over 200 juried crafters, artists, photographers and gourmet food specialists.

Cinderella: Presented by the Greater Ocean City Theatre Company, on July 19, 10:30 a.m. at the Moorlyn Family Theatre (across from the Music Pier).

A sweet adaptation of the beloved fairy tale classic.  It will be presented with a new twist that will delight families and children of all ages.

The Chip Miller Surf Fest: This popular, decades old grass roots family surf contest raises money and awareness to combat the rare and deadly disease, Amyloidosis.

The event is July 19, with registration begininng at 7 a.m. on the 7th Street Beach. The fee is $30 and the contest begins at 8 a.m. For information, call 609-231-1562.

The 35th annual T. John Carey, Masters Swim, July 19: Registration is at 8 a.m. at the beach patrol station, 34th and Beach. The race will start at 10 a.m. The event is named in honor of legendary Ocean City athlete T. John Carey.

Professional Soccer: The Ocean City Nor’easters take on the Baltimore Bohemians July 19, 7 p.m. at Carey Stadium on 6th and Boardwalk. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for children under 16. For more, call 609-525-9999.

Ocean City Pops Orchestra presents Our Three Tenors I, July 20, 8 p.m. at Ocean City Music Pier. William Davenport, Jonathan Boyd and Jeffrey Halili raise the roof. Tickets $20 at the Music Pier Box Office (609) 525-9248.
