Sept. 30 Charity Soccer Game Cancelled

A miniature golf event will now benefit the Betsy Young Memorial Fund.

A charity soccer game that had been scheduled for noon Sept. 30 and would have benefited the Betsy Young Memorial Fund has been canceled due to the prohibitive cost of insurance, according to event organizer Amanda Thomas.

The Ocean City Nor'easters amateur soccer team had been slated to play a one-hour game for charity against Ocean City "locals."

The Betsy Young Memorial Fund, which provides student scholarships in the name of the late Ocean City Intermediate School music teacher Betsy Young, raised more than $1,000 by having this event last year.

Anybody interested in contributing to the fund can participate in the inaugural Mini Golf Night on Oct. 20 at Haunted Golf. Tickets are $7 and must be ordered by calling 609-233-9020 or coming to Haunted Golf, at Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace, between noon and 7 p.m.
