Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Sandy Project Playground Sunday Morning

The project began, and was nearly complete, on Thursday.

The ribbon will be cut on the latest playground constructed by the Where Angels Play Foundation on Sunday morning, 11 a.m.

A group of volunteers gathered on Thursday to construct a new playground on 29th Street in honor of Benjamin Wheeler, a 6-year-old victim of the 2012 shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

The project was almost fully complete by the end of Thursday, according to ocnjdaily.com.

The playground is located at 2901 West Avenue in Ocean City, next to the firehouse.

The playground is the 22nd playground completed as part of a group of playgrounds the Where Angels Play Foundation is constructing in honor of victims of Superstorm Sandy and the Sandy Hook shootings. The project is known as the Sandy Ground Project.
