Report: Former Owner of Gillian's Island Waterpark Jim Gillian Dies

Jim Gillian died on Wednesday following serious health problems.

Former Gillian's Island Waterpark owner Jim Gillian died at the age of 57 on Wednesday, the Ocean City Gazette reports. Gillian is Mayor Jay Gillian's brother.

Jim Gillian was battling serious health problems recently, according to the report.

He has two adult children and another brother, Steve, according to the report. He ran Gillian’s Island Waterpark and Adventure Golf on the boardwalk, according to the report.

The waterpark opened in 1984. In 2006, he bought out his two younger brothers. Plymouth Holdings bought the waterpark and golf course in March and renamed it Adventure Island.

Jim's grandfather opened Gillian's Wonderland Pier in 1930. It is currently run by Jay Gillian.
