RECOVERY: Moving On After Sandy

After the worst storm of their lives, rebuilding the Jersey Shore

It was the worst storm of their lives, one that changed everything they remember about the Jersey Shore.

But people are already coming back to visit and rebuild the beaches in places such as Point Pleasant Beach.

In Toms River, signs proclaim: WE ARE OPEN. Clean-up that started weeks ago continues as merchants put up holiday decorations. Distribution sites remain stocked and eager to help those in need at Bellcrest Plaza.

This is a photo essay of what's happening in places such as Point Pleasant Beach and Toms River.

More likely Point Pleasant Beach will open up again than Seaside Park. The homes in Seaside that were washed away are like the storm...history. Glad though to see Point Pleasant had some life left in it that even the Aquarium has a chance at next season opening. thanks for the pictures
