Ocean City Man Spends the Weekend Running for Charity

An Ocean City man spent his weekend running for charity five years after suffering a heart attack, ocnjdaily.com reports.

Rich McCleary, 43, ran 104 miles to raise money for Ocean of Love, according to the report. Ocean of Love is a charity that raises money for children battling cancer.

McCleary's trek began Saturday in Clifton and wrapped up Monday in Manahawkin. His run lasted nearly 30 hours, according to the report.

Five years ago, he suffered a heart attack while at work. He was 135 pounds overweight, according to the report. He lost weight by walking on the Ocean City boardwalk, and eventually worked his way up to running.

He spent the weekend running for a cause close to his heart.
