Mr. Mature America Pageant Raises $2,000 for Food Cupboard, Philippines Reconstruction

The donations were made Tuesday morning at City Hall.

Money raised by the inaugural Mr. Mature America Pageant was donated to the Ocean City Food Cupboard and the Philippine Reconstruction Fund Tuesday morning at City Hall.

One $1,000 check was donated to the Ocean City Food Cupboard, and one $1,000 check was donated to the Philippine Reconstruction Fund. Consul Zaldy Patron from the Philippine Consul General’s Office in New York accepted the check on behalf of the fund.

Five years ago, Ocean City became sister cities with San Jose Occidental Mindoro,  The arrangement includes a Philippine Trade Exhibition each summer,
according to ocnjdaily.com.

Dotti Cianci accepted the check for the food cupboard, according to the report.

The Mr. Mature America pageant was the first in the country to honor men over the age of 60. Frank Farfalli Jr., 61, of Cape May, won the inaugural pageant on March 22 at the Ocean City Music Pier.

A second pageant will likely be held next March, according to the report.
