Ocean City’s newest attraction is set to open in the spring.

Boardwalk Bounce, which bills itself as the “first interactive play facility in Ocean City” is set to open in April, according to boardwalkbounce.com.

The facility features a 20-foot slide, bounce houses, rock climbing walls, full service food and free Internet access. Boardwalk Bounce is designed to entertain children between 2 and 10 years old.

The facility is moving into 900 Boardwalk and is now hiring. Potential employees can apply for a job by emailing tony@boardwalkbounce.com. Tony will also be on location at the next two Saturdays, March 22 and 29, for interviews. Applications will be available that day on location, according to Boardwalk Bounce’s Facebook page.

Boardwalk Bounce is moving into the building currently occupied by The Strand, a movie theater established in the 1930’s that never fully recovered from Hurricane Sandy, according to ocnjdaily.com.

This is very sad. The loss of a great movie theater and an Ocean City landmark. I remember seeing "Dead Poets Society" there in 1989 when I was just 20 years old. That movie inspired me to buy my first place at the Jersey Shore later that same year.

Fear not Jeff: If I read the link in this article correctly, there will still be two movie venues? They gutted three others to make the bounce place.

Correct. Just like last season, there will be two screens outfitted with new digital projection playing first fun films all summer!
