DOO DAH NEWS: There will be a weekend of fun events April 11th and 12th as we celebrate our annual Tribute to Humor. The Parade is set for April 12 at noon starting at 6th and Asbury Ave., proceeding through the Downtown, then to the Boardwalk and ending at the Music Pier. Following the Parade, we will hold our annual PieAsco. You will be invited to sit in grandstands and smoosh your neighbor with a shaving cream pie. This is a tribute to the late Soupy Sales, a past Doo Dah Grand Marshal who appeared in many Parades. Entry is free and those who participate receive a colorful certificate certifying they smooshed and were smooshed on the Ocean City Boardwalk.

Grand Marshal this year will be Peter Funt of “Candid Camera” who will present a video retrospective on the popular TV Show started by his father Allen Funt at the Music Pier, 7 p.m. Friday April 11th. Admission will be a donation of non-perishable food for the City’s Food Cupboard.

Our 500 basset hounds will be back courtesy of the Tri –State Basset Hound Rescue League who will hold its hilarious Olympics, noon, Fri. at the Tabernacle grounds.   The endearing pooches will of course waddle in the Parade. Dr. Joel Goodman of the Humor Project will present a program on humor Friday afternoon at the Ocean City Free Public Library and there will be a Tribute to Abbott and Costello Saturday evening at the Library. Call 609-525-9300 for more information plus how you and your friends can enter this popular event, get a free commemorative T Shirt from Dietz and Watson and a free hotdog lunch.
