A Note of Thanks to OCNJ CARE

South-end resident Lori Vitullo thanks volunteers for helping in aftermath of Sandy.

Our home on 53rd Street and Simpson Avenue was flooded because of Sandy. I needed to get my furniture, carpets, etc., out to the alley for trash pickup. My husband was in the hospital, and I had no one to help me.

I remembered the OCNJ CARE flyer I had received and I contacted Joe Ney.  There immediately started flurry of activity via emails and a time was set up for the next morning, whereby a team would come out to my house to help me.

Sorry, but I have forgotten the names of my "angels," but I will never forget their kindness. They couldn't do enough for me, and imagine, when I thanked them, they thanked me for asking them to help. God bless them and the entire volunteer effort of OCNJCARE.
