The Power of Mantras to Produce Peace

Learn how mantras can help you find inner peace so we can rebuild ourselves and our community to a stronger place.

How many times I have heard the word mantra, even chanted the Om chant and never quite understood its true meaning or truly felt its powerful effects….until recently.  Myself, like many, have had to dig deep to find inner peace in the midst of this devastation and chaos from the storm. Mantras can help you find this peace.

Mantras are positive affirmations that produce strong impressions deep in your subconscious mind when repeated over and over again.  There are also specific mantra sounds that were perceived by great yogis in their deep meditation.  These potent sounds have specific meaning or vibrations and  produce feelings of love, strength, peace, abundance and so on.  Mantras are beyond language, time and cultural-they are universal.   Chanting and repetition of mantras produces peace of mind and helps alleviate stress and the problems of everyday life.

Mantras have a relaxing effect, producing deep relaxation in those who chant them or even listen to them.  In mantra chanting, one forgets the body, the senses, the mind and becomes absorbed in the joy of connecting with the higher self.  Mantra chanting helps quiet the mind and leads one into meditation.  Those who cannot control the restless mind can easily attain a deep meditative state through mantras.
