The 73^rd South Jersey Lifeguard Championship will be held on August 10, 2012 on the 34^th Street beach in Ocean City. The OCBP earned the privilege of hosting the event by winning the 2011 South Jersey Championship.

The three-event tournament will begin at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 10. The OCBP will be rowing and swimming to hold on to the championship trophy.

Fred and Susan Miller, using their book, Legendary Locals of Ocean City, will discuss the mayors and the Ocean City Beach Patrol on July 12, 2012 at 7 p.m. in the lecture hall at the Ocean City Free Public Library. The free program is sponsored by the Ocean City Historical Museum.
