OCBP in 1939: Captain Jack G. Jernee Drills the Lifeguards

Ocean City Beach Patrol Captain Jack G. Jernee drills the lifeguards in resuscitation skills on the 12th Street beach on June 21, 1939. Techniques have changed since then, but not the lifeguards’ commitment to saving lives.

The OCBP will demonstrate its lifesaving skills on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 6 p.m., on the Rambler Road beach in Wildwood Crest when they compete in the 29th annual Cape May County Lifeguard Championship.

Oh yes, there is historian Fred and Captain Jack Jernee in 1939, with photo. The first OCBP Captain, was Krauss in 1889, and the last "OCBP Captain" was Ollie Muzslay, during the 1980's and 1990's. Is it not a moral duty and an obligation (ethics) of any historian, to include all, in his historical reporting ? Seems like historian Fred, can not find or include the history of the last "Captain" of the OCBP, Ollie Muzslay. What is up with that Fred? How about a photo of Captain Muzslay with his outstanding OCBP lifeguard sons(3), Fred.

The Cape May County Lifeguard Championships will have maybe 8-members of the OCBP participating out of 180 members of the patrol. The event is more about competition and racing, than a demonstration of lifesaving skills. There is a difference Fred, but I realize that racing is more important to you. Is the June 29th event a USLA sanctioned event Fred. Has the OCBP Director of Operations(2001) regained "USLA Certification" after loosing it for the Patrol / City, over the last several years ? Do you have the history on that scenario,Fred and what will you ever be able to write about that guy.
