Make Fitness Fun: Try an Adventure Race

Are you bored of your everyday exercise routine? Are you looking for something to motivate you to increase your fitness level?

Training for something fun will give you inspiration you need to make exercise a part of your everyday routine. Fun is why Mud Runs and Obstacle Course Races have become the new rage.  These races have various obstacles like hay bales, wall climbs, crawls, tunnels and of course, mud pits!  This variety challenges your cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and agility/coordination-all important components of your fitness.

Exodus' Exercise Specialist, Brian Wright, is heading up the Adventure Race Classes at Exodus.  The classes are challenging in every sort of the way, but they are fun.  The class is composed of short sprints, pull ups, push ups, burpees, box hops, spider crawls, rolling tires (must I go on?!)  Each student leaves feeling empowered because what they once thought they couldn’t do, they realize not only they have the potential to accomplish, but accomplish it with Joy.

Personally, I am not a big fan of mud; running in wet clothes; and being out of my element.  But, I am looking forward to stepping out of my comfort zone, challenging myself mentally and physically and giving this a try.   You don't know until you try, they say.  So, find what inspires you this summer to make Fitness Fun.

Exodus Adventure Racing Classes are Wednesday 9 a.m. and Sunday 10:15 a.m. with Brian Wright.
