October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and the amount of pink you will see on your TV screens and sports fields will increase dramatically. Not only does this symbolize the togetherness of people showing the will to fight this disease it is also a sign to show that you have contributed to the battle.
Jersey Premier Soccer have teamed with the American Cancer Society to help find a cure. As part of their ‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’ campaign JPS will be selling armbands that all of our players will be encouraged to purchase and wear through October. The cost of the armband is less than $1 but we are asking for a donation of $5 for each with net proceeds being donated directly to the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer program in the name of Jersey Premier Soccer.
The club has ordered 200 hundred pink armbands and we are hoping to raise as much money and awareness as possible in the fight against Breast Cancer. JPS would like to involve the south Jersey community as a whole and if you know other teams that would like to get involved then please let us know.
Coach Leon Brown, the instigator of the program said, “We felt that it was important to show our support for our JPS friends and family who have suffered or a suffering from breast cancer”
To purchase an armband and wear it with pride please contact Leon Brown at lbrown@jerseypremiersoccer.com or call on (609) 525 9999
