Week in Review: New Art Exhibit, Residents Honor Marine Corporal
A weekly recap of the past week's news.
This week we saw residents honor a marine, watched a city council candidate announce his race, announced when Mayor Gillian will meet with some of the city's residents and more. Here are some highlights from the past week's news:
On Monday, we saw a Ocean City student return to provide a lesson about African-American history, we took a look at new tide prediction tools on the city's website, posted a police activity report, discussed the new mural in the library, which includes paintings of such authors as Stephen King, Edgar Allen Poe and J.K. Rowling, and saw hundreds honor fallen marine Corporal Kevin Reinhard.
On Tuesday, we discussed a possible restructuring of the Ocean City High School school day and announced when Mayor Gillian's first ward meeting will be held.
On Wednesday, we looked at some photos of the new Route 52 bridges and saw who was chosen as the Doo Dah Parade's grand marshal.
On Thursday, we discussed Groundhog Day (six more weeks of winter, apparently), compared Ocean City schools to the rest of the state and took a look at the Bella Salon and Spa.
On Friday, we described a new art exhibit that will feature photographs by James Adam Taylor, watched Ocean City firefighters race up fifty flights of stairs with gear on, looked at a new aerobics and yoga room at the Ocean City Aquatics and Fitness Center, announced the students who made honor roll, saw Ed Price announce his campaign for a fourth ward seat on the city council and watched an eating champion devour 337 wings.
On Saturday, we asked if you can root for the Giants in the Super Bowl, listed some weekend events, announced when Mayor Gillian's second ward meeting will be held, announced that four OCHS alumni plan to volunteer in the Dominican Republic and looked at an historic and modern photo of the Scarborough Inn.
