Week in Review: Memorial Day Events, Beach Road Fire Investigated

A weekly recap of the past week's news.

This week we looked back at a historic storm, saw the cause of a Beach Road fire determined and endured some serious heat.

Here are some highlights from the past week's news:

On Monday, we saw dogs take over the boardwalk, took a photo tour of the Rt. 52 causeway and attended Ocean City's Memorial Day service.

On Tuesday, we posted a police activity and arrest report, asked businesses how Memorial Day weekend went for them, saw young musicians recognized, reported that Ocean City's beach and boardwalk were listed among the best by the Travel Channel and saw Ocean City keep cool during last week's heat.

On Wednesday, we revisited the storm of 1962, saw the state take new steps in hurricane preparedness and reported that investigators found that electrical wiring caused a beach road fire.

On Thursday, we welcomed Manahawkin to Patch and previewed the Ocean City Flower show.

On Friday, we announced that a Pink Floyd tribute band will perform at the Music Pier in August, took a look at the Ocean City school report card, reported that anglers are catching more fluke, previewed a June art exhibit, posted a Jersey shore beach guide and saw an Ocean City High School senior take the stage with Beyoncé.

On Saturday, we compared a historic photograph to a modern one and announced that you might see some zombies on the boardwalk this summer.
