Week in Review: Gov. Christie Keynote Speech, Miss Ocean City

A weekly recap of the past week's news.

 

This week we reported on "No Parking" changes on Bay Avenue, discussed changes to Ocean City High School sports and got to know Miss Ocean City.

Here are some highlights from the past week's news:

On Monday, we met Devon Vanderslice, the new Miss Ocean City, posted a police activity report, reported that the police are seeking help regarding late night vandals, heard from Ocean City High School's principal regarding the CAL realignment and reported that the abandoned Bellevue Hotel was declared unsafe after ware damage.

On Tuesday, we posted a video of New Jersey delegates discussing Governor Chris Christie's keynote speech at the Republican National Convention and reported that Ocean City decided to undo "No Parking" changes on Bay Avenue.

On Wednesday, we reported that a bayside dredging project should begin any day, saw a police camp graduate 30 students, reported that online signups for youth soccer will open on Sept. 8, posted a schedule of Labor Day weekend events and reported that Ocean City still awaits a recommendation regarding gulls dying on the Route 52 causeway.

On Thursday, we reported that a horseshoe crab sculpture was destroyed and saw a fire on 41st and Asbury.

On Friday, we saw that tropical storm Leslie is on a track up the Atlantic, reported that MTV's "Jersey Shore" is ending for good, saw the King and Queen of the Plop Contest and reported that "Hairspray" is coming to the Music Pier.

On Saturday, we reported that Charles Cusack will plead not guilty to sexual assault and posted a historical image.
