The cast of experienced high school actors is ready for opening night after long hours of grueling work, costume fittings and dress rehearsals. One cast will perform on Thursday and Friday nights and another will perform both shows on Saturday.

“This show is about a crazy, seemingly mad family with a wise old grandfather, a kooky mother and strange father, the lovable maid and her boyfriend, a wacky sister and her husband, and the only sane one in the family: Alice. She falls in love with Tony, a boy from an incredibly wealthy and uptight family. As the story progresses, we see that Tony's family may not want to be involved with Alice's and with grandpa owing 24 years back income tax, who knows what will happen,” student director Kathryn Beatty said.

A feud begins when love birds Tony Kirby and Alice Sycamore decide to have their families together for dinner to announce their pending engagement. When the Kirby’s show up at the Sycamore home on the wrong evening, they are invited inside anyway and offered whatever cheap food is in the Sycamore's house. In utter disgrace and disbelief, it is then that the Kirbys forbid their son’s marriage to Alice. Throughout the show, the audience will hear witty one-liners, which was the claim to fame for the show in 1937, when it won a Pulitzer Prize.

Tickets are $8 for senior citizens and students and $10 for adults. They can be purchased at the door or by calling 609-399-1290, ext. 1442.
