Ocean City Will Try Again to Beat the Heat

Temperatures are predicted to climb higher on Thursday.

The shift on Wednesday came shortly after noon — the southerly winds took a slight turn to come off the water and make a miserably hot day a little more bearable.

With high temperatures on Thursday expected to exceed 92 degrees on the coast and 98 degrees on the mainland, Ocean City will be hoping for a little more of the same.

The marine forecast for Thursday looks similar to Wednesday's. Light southwest winds of 5 to 11 mph in the morning will become 11 to 17 mph south winds with gusts up to 20 mph in the afternoon.

Friday's temperatures are predicted to cool off by a few degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

The ocean water temperature on Wednesday was 71 degrees and the high air temperature was 90 degrees.
