Beginning on Friday night, the Ocean City Coffee Company will host weekly live entertainment from 7 to 9 p.m. at its downtown location (917 Asbury Avenue).

The coffee shop will feature different local musicians each Friday. There will also be an open mic so that anyone can get up and play a tune or two during the course of the evening, according to manager Aubrey Corbett.

"Not only do we want to benefit our local musicians, but we would also love to benefit local causes," Corbett said. "To kick off this exciting new event, we will be having a benefit for the Humane Society of Ocean City."

Ocean City Coffee Company has a popular location on the 900 block of the Boardwalk. The downtown location opened in 2012 adjacent to the former City Hall Annex property that is now a small park.

The new location is an important addition to a downtown working to attract year-round and evening customers.
