"The first round of the Cup will be a great opening game of the season for all of our supporters to come and see," Oswald said. "We encourage all of our soccer fans and young soccer players to come out and see two of the best teams on the East Coast battle it out in a one-off knockout game format. A lot of these guys will be playing regularly in the pros in a few years, from both teams so it will be a fun game."

On the chances of a win, Oz replied, "It’s one game, our boys are coming into camp after their spring semester in college and will be hungry as they compete for a starting place. If we play as well as I know our players can and with the Nor’easters support behind us, we have a great chance of progressing to the next round".

Red Bulls U23 Head Coach John Wolyniec had a fantastic professional playing career before moving into coaching. Wolyniec played 306 professional games for a collection of teams throughout the US including Columbus Crew, LA Galaxy and the New York Red Bulls. He has US Open Cup experience as a player where he won it with the Chicago Fire in 2000. In 2012 Wolyniec led the New York Red Bulls U23 team to a NPSL Northeast Division title with a record of 10-1-1.

It is the first time that Ocean City have been back in the US Open Cup since 2009 when they defeated to pro teams on their way to a third round meeting with MLS giants DC United.
