Historical Images: Eighth Street and Ocean Avenue
Our weekly feature includes photographs from the Ocean City Historical Museum collection and from the modern era.
This week's "Then and Now" features a view looking northeast at Eighth Street and Ocean Avenue.
The first image shows the building on the corner of Eighth Street and Ocean Avenue circa 1930. At that time, it was home to JW Morrison Real Estate & Insurance, as well as a gas station and parking lot. Mr. Morrison began the real estate business in 1919.
In the second image, the building still stands, though it was renovated and is now Suites for the Forum Motor Inn. Across the street is the Hobby Horse Ice Cream Parlor, the Blue Water Inn and the Varsity Resturant.
