Historical Images: Doctor's Home Lands at 10th and Pleasure
Our weekly feature includes photographs from the Ocean City Historical Museum collection and from the modern era.
This week's "Then and Now" features a home that was originally located at 10th Street and Wesley Avenue and is now at 10th and Pleasure Avenue.
The first image shows the home as built at 10th and Wesley in the 1890s by Dr. Graham. The people on the porch are said to be lined up for the census count in 1900.
The second image shows the home where it is now located on the corner of West 10th Street and Pleasure Avenue after being moved there. It has retained most of its original detail, including the widow's walk on the top of the home.

I ran into the folks who own this house today at Ready's and they had been told be an old neighbor that the house had been rolled down 10th St on timbers to its current location about 70 years ago.

Then the hurricane flood waters floated it back to its original site.

This is a beautiful house and so nice to see a home like this preserved in Ocean City. To many times the older homes have been knocked down so a big plastic box can be put in its place. The owners have done a wonderful job maintaining its orginal style.
