Gillian's Wonderland Pier Announces New 'Thrill Zone'
Check out the Thrill Zone during Wonder Bear's Birthday on June 7.
has announced the opening of new Thrill Zone attractions with a video featuring local high school students.
The video, made by Ocean City High School Audio-Visual Facility Engineer Steven Trauger and the Ocean City High School students, was posted this week on Youtube and Gillian’s Wonderland Pier's Facebook page.
The Thrill Zone includes the following rides (bold means new for 2012):

- Gravitron/Alien Abduction
- Disk’o
- Haunted House Dark Ride (opening summer 2012)
- Air Borne Shot
- Runaway Train Coaster
- Canyon Falls Log Flume
- Scrambler
- Fun Slide
- Skooter Bumper Cars
- Moby Dick
The Gravitron has an alien-abduction theme, while the Disk’o is a large spinning disk that moves back and forth. The Haunted House Dark Ride is still under construction and will open later in the 2012 summer season.
Classics, such as the Scrambler and the Log Flume, have been sectioned off into the Thrill Zone as well.

The new Thrill Zone rides will be available to ride at Wonder Bear’s Birthday on June 7, when all rides are one ticket apiece.
Wonderbear, the Pier's mascot, will be turning 83, and the pier will celebrate the patrons of Gillian’s Wonderland Pier and Ocean City by offering this special night with fireworks at 9 p.m. The rides will be one ticket from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
