Five Things to Know About City Council's Thursday Agenda
Boardwalk reconstruction and a planner's contract are among agenda items for the July 26 meeting.
City Council will vote to reject bids to rebuild the Boardwalk between Fifth and Sixth streets. The city has $1 million to spend on the first phase of a Boardwalk overhaul between Fifth and 12th streets, but the city wants to put out new bids that will consider a material more durable than yellow pine.
- City Council will vote to approve a $14,500 contract with the planning group helping Ocean City update its Master Plan. Professional planner Randy Scheule is part of the Karabashian Eddington Planning Group and has been guiding Ocean City's Planning Board in the process.
- City Council will vote to accept a $4,400 grant from the state for the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over 2012 Statewide Crackdown.
- City Council will vote to extend the grace period for the August 2012 tax quarter until Aug. 27.
- City Council will vote to approve a new labor contract with the American Federation of Musicians, Local 661-708 — the union that represents the Ocean City Pops orchestra.
