Fire Severely Damages Tioga Terrace Home
Ocean City Fire Department controls fire, protects neighboring homes.
A resident and three pets made it out safely, but a fire severely damaged a home on the 1300 block of Tioga Terrace on Tuesday afternoon.
All units of the Ocean City Fire Department responded to a call about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday to 1357 Tioga Terrace. A female occupant had escaped safely with a dog.
Firefighters entered through a front door and made their way through heavy smoke to a fire in the rear of the house. They rescued another dog and a cat in the firefighting effort. The fire was under control in about 30 minutes.
It caused severe damage to the home and minor damage to a neighboring house. The cause is still under investigation, according to Fire Chief Chris Breunig.

This is my Aunt. Her cell died & now I have no way of locating her. All of her belongings (car keys & purse) were destroyed. I am not a resident so I can't get on the island to help her & her pets. Please let me know if there's a way to get a permission slip faxed to give me entry & I'll come there asap to help her. She's alone w/no family but me near her. Thx.

She is very worried about the other cat that ran into the fire as she ran out - he is yellow - hopefully someone will find him alive!!!
