Driving Class Could Help Remove Violation Points

The city is sponsoring a Defensive Driving Class on March 20.

The City of Ocean City will hold a Defensive Driving Class on Wednesday, March 20, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Ocean City Free Public Library auditorium.

This class is for members of the public who have never taken this course and for those who have taken it more than three years ago.  Ocean City Police Lieutenant Bill Campbell and Officer Craig Wilson will be the instructors.

Completion of this course entitles you to removal of up to two points from your motor vehicle record and may enable you to save 5 percent on the liability portion of your auto insurance.  In order to take advantage of these benefits, you must bring to class either $10 in cash or a money order payable to:  New Jersey Safety Council. No personal checks can be accepted.

To register, call the Ocean City Human Resources Office at 609-399-6111 ext. 9367 Monday through Friday, 8:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Be sure to have all school bus drivers, owners of school buses and children that drive vehicles to and from school attendances mandatory.
Also before the classes are held, video the corner of Atlantic Avenue and 9th Street at any given school day at 2:40 pm. This video should be shown at the beginning of each defensive driving class to see the blatant disregard of the stop sign by most all the bus drivers and school children drivers.
