Videotaped statements from all nine City Council candidates running in the May 8 municipal election will be replayed on several occasions on the Ocean City’s government access channel (Channel 2 on the Comcast Cable System).

In 2006, the policy of providing access to the channel for local election candidates was established. The city provides candidates the opportunity to have a five-minute statement professionally recorded at their cost and then replayed on Channel 2. 

This year’s series of statements will include the officially filed candidates for the four ward seats on the seven-member City Council. The candidates' statements began to air on Channel 2 on April 13 and will continue on the following dates and times:

• Wednesday, April 25, 7:30 a.m.
• Friday, April 27, 7:30 a.m.
• Sunday, April 29, Noon
• Wednesday, May 2, 7:30 p.m.
• Friday, May 4, 7:30 p.m.
