Bulgaria Photography Exhibit at Ocean City Arts Center in February
The public is invited to a 'Meet the Artist' reception on Feb. 8.
Photographer Macy Zhelyazkova, of the Villas in Cape May County, brings her magicial images of the southeastern European Republic of Bulgaria to the Ocean City Arts Center throughout February.
A "Meet the Artist" reception, free and open to the public, will be held 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8.
Zhelyazkova first traveled to Bulgaria in 2009 with her husband, Nikolay, a native of the country. She fell in love with the country's culture. Bulgaria is bordered by the Black Sea on the east, Turkey and Greece to the south, and Serbia and Macedonia to the west.
Zhelyazkova' s photos take audiences back in time to an era of stone walls and cobblestone streets. The exhibit is called, "Bulgaria: Time and Place." All photos are for sale and range in price from $150 to $375.
"We are so happy to offer this exhibit which features a glimpse into the lifestyle and culture of Bulgaria," Ocean City Arts Center Executive Director Rosalyn Lifshin said. "The photos are so beautifully done and they help us learn about a different part of the world."
