Ocean City Hosts an Open Water Swim in February

The inaugural event included adult swimmers and Special Olympics athletes.

A 25-meter pool adorned with inflatable palm trees and marine life served as the ocean for the inaugural POW (Pool Open Water) Swim at the Ocean City Aquatics and Fitness on Saturday, Feb. 18.

The Ocean City Swim Club and the Ocean City Stingrays Special Olympics team participated the unique event that included swims of 140, 280 and 560 meters (around a 70-meter circuit).

The Ocean City Swim Club is a group of adult fitness swimmers who work out 7 to 8:30 a.m. Sundays and 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays at the Aquatics Center. The Stingrays share the same home pool.
